Biking Birder 2010

Let’s fight climate change
Hello. My name is Gary Prescott, 53 years young and I am a BIRDER on a bike. 3 weeks into my cycling I have been to 15 RSPB reserves and 1 WWT reserve.
My aim in 2010 is to see as many bird species as possible in the UK by cycling. My hope is to see more than 250 bird species but just to make it a little more interesting I will also visit every RSPB and WWT nature reserve open to the public. So I will be BIGBYing . . . . having a Big Green Big Year!
I hope to raise money for three charities, so please sponsor me.
The journey started at Sandwell Valley RSPB reserve in the West Midlands on January the 1st and it will finish there on December the 31st, 5,000 miles or so later.
During the year I will visit many schools affiliated to the Eco Schools programme and share ideas about being Green with children and staff. Since I joined in the Eco Schools movement I have become more aware of what effects climate change will have on all of us and I wish to do my bit to fight it.
